Hi Carla,
Im led to believe that our line of heritage comes from Raunds, Northamptonshire. I have a relative that apparently went to the UK and did alot of research but he is busy writing books on world war history. If you google Ashley Ekins, he is a writer for the Australian War Memorial Museum. Ive been waiting so long for him to get back to me so I am trying to get a lead myself. Ashley and I grandfathers are brothers and I believe him to be correct as that is what he does.
Lynette
Written by Dee Dee Joan Marie Fountain of Sacramento California 916 446 7063.
Hi I'm Joan Fountain and am told that Alford S. Hadden is my Ancestor, and I went a head to get my DNA done, I wanted to find my Hall Ancestor. I was told that Hadden married someone named Hall.
I’m hoping that with the DNA system that they have now anyone that is related to those lines back in Ky will be able to see a match if they have their DNA done. I’m also a Quinn and there is a huge DNA drive to get all the Quinn families of Ireland’s DNA done because someone says they have one of the larger families in Ireland.

I'm on the Hart - King - Dodge - Hofhiens Hadden line. Yep if they had half of a chance to think they would have moved those records before someone stormed those main places. Today they may be in those caverns down under ground you know about those long many miles long caverns where they keep all our data. Mom used to talk about those. Someday there I'm sure it will all fit on a disk but not yet.

I have recently started working on the Sapwell side of my family history having extensively researched my mum's side of the family.

If you have any information on any Sapwells that would be fantastic. Since we are such a small group we are all related.

Barbara

I am looking for records for Katherine Ekins, who was alive in 1660. Ekins may have been her married name. She was the sister in law of Joseph Elliott, citizen and cooper of London - whose wife's name was Anna. I think there may be a connection to Raunds and Northamptonshire, as John Elliott, a Stepney carpenter who was a relative (brother?) of Joseph's, mentions the Flintham family of Raunds as relatives in his will of 1672.

Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

For more details contact Brandon Sundeen.
From your user name I would say that you are John and yes we are cousins. You would be my second cousin, Leona is my 1st cousin 1x removed and your grandfather Ray is my Great or Grand Uncle (depending how you refer to it).

As a kid I lived in Milford, Utah and Ramona and her family, husband Charles Smith, lived in back of a kid that I played with, George McCully. My mother and I were living with my grandparents across the street from George and his family. Almost every morning I would get up, run across the street to George's house and then the two of us would run out the back of his house to Ramona’s house to get Robert, her son and off the three of us would go. Over the years I have lost contact with both George and Robert, not sure but I think that Robert passed away.

Ramona and my mom, Donna Baudino Craw, were 1st cousins; Grandma, Pearl Bentley Baudino was Ramona’s aunt. I remember seeing Uncle Ray, but as I was only about 4 or so that is all I do remember, just seeing him and remembering that I like him a lot.

If you have access to ancestry.com you can find my tree on it, Craw – Baudino.

At one time I did not live to far from you. I served on 5 different submarines, three of which were homeported at the Sub Base in Groton, Connecticut. I had a home in Gales Ferry just 7 miles west of Foxwoods and 7 miles east of the Mohegan Sun. Not sure if you know about them, but they are two of the largest casino in the world.

If you would like to email me my address is dcraw1 at tampabay.rr.com
I believe she was the daughter of Richard Joyce and Annie of Hargrave. I have Annie or Amy born 10 may 1660 in Hargrave. I have Thomas was the son of John Ekins the Elder of Raunds and Martha Child. John and Amy's children are Ekin Smith and John Smith. I hope I am right and that this helps. All of the info I have comes from an extensive search of Ekins in Raunds parish records and surrounding parish records.

Jackie,

It is great to hear from you. John William Bentley 1 Aug 1881 Parowan, Iron, Utah 28 Mar 1957 Parowan, Iron, Utah is my 1st cousin 3x removed. Both of John's parents, William Bentley 1850 – 1933 and Lovina Moore Banks 1862 – 1928 are blood relatives of my; the Bentley line came from my maternal grandmother and the Banks line came from both sides of my dads line - due to all the cross/family inter-marring that went on. Lovina's line goes back to Eyre.

William is my 2nd great-grand uncle and a younger brother to my 2nd great-grandfather, Frederick.

I uploaded my GEDCOM onto ancestry.com almost 2 years ago and have been busy working of several different lines. I am currently working on my West line that came from my great-grandparents, Margaret Alice West and Edward Bentley.

I took a quick look at John W. and his wife Hannah’s records and see that I have my original information that was researched before loading the GEDCOM onto ancestry.com. From what research I have completed on his line, I show that John and Hannah had 5 daughters and one son.

I show that Gertrude and her husband, Jens Peter Nielson, both died in their 20s. Do not have much on Laura, just b: abt 1913 and that Alice was b: 22 Feb 1915 and d: 28 Feb 1916. I have not followed Shelby's line yet but I show that he was b: 10 Jun 1917 d: 30 Oct 1991. And for the last two, Norma, and Roma, it looks like they were twins as both have a date of birth of abt 1919.

I would love to show you what I have got on the Bentley line as well as the Banks/Eyre lines as well. If I remember correctly, I have at least three different way of connecting my mother Bentley line to my dads Craw line. I know that I uploaded a story to several records showing these connections.

If you want, please contact me at: dcraw1 at tampabay.rr.com

Delete the spaces and the at and add @

I think I had a typo in Hannah name; I had Mickelson.

Dan

Hello Karen

Many thanks for the Ekins and Harle transcripts. Sorry to find that the Thomas Ekins baptised in 1683 is not the husband of Rebecca Harle but at least I can eliminate him altogether. I had not realised the number of possible alternative spellings- especially for Harle.

I agree the Harle and Ekins families are a pesky lot. The Ekins seemed to move about a bit. One family owned quite a lot of land in Wollaston in the 1630s though they lived three miles away at Irchester at the time.

Once again many thanks for your kindness. It is much appreciated.

Regards

Diane
Hello,

I am also interested in the Ekins line and I have the following information on Thomas and Rebecca. These are my notes on Thomas & Rebecca.

Marriage
Thomas Ekins married Rebeccah Kaite or Haite or Waite by banns in Raunds, England, on ( 9ber) 9 Sep 1710 (PR)
Thomas Ekins of Chelveston and Rebeccah Harle of Raunds were married in Raunds, England on 23 Nov 1710 ( BT)

Certificate of Removal
1711 Thomas Ekins, butcher from Chelveston cum Caldicote

Burial of spouse
Rebecca Ekins, the wife of Thomas Ekins, was buried in Chelveston, England, on April 30 1749

Burial
A Thomas Ekins was buried in Chelveston on 04 Jan 1742/43

Notes on Rebecca Katie Harle: I know there was a discrepancy in the spelling, but it was listed as Hurley/Harley on Mary's. They did have a problem with spelling.

Christening
Rebecca Herb, daughter of Edmund and Rebecca Herb, was christened in Raunds, England, on 28 Sep 1688

Marriage
Thomas Ekins married Rebeccah Kaite or Haite or Waite by banns in Raunds, England, on ( 9ber) 9 Sep 1710 in Raunds, England.

Burial
Rebecca Ekins, the wife of Thomas Ekins, was buried in Chelveston, England, on April 30,1749

I have Rebecca Katie Harle as the daughter of Edmund Harle and Rebekah Infield. They were married in Raunds on Sep 1671. I assume Rebehak both were born about 1650. Rebehah had an older sister named Mary Harle that was chr in Raunds on 15 Aug 1675. All info comes from the Raunds PR and BT's.
Hello,

I am familiar with some of the Eatons you mentioned, but I don't know the answer to either of those questons. I have the info on Anthony Smith but have never been able to determine who Anne's parents were. She was born in Woodford about 1787 based on the census records. The Eatons of Woodford were non conformists and I haven't found the church they belonged to or any record of them. They were buried in the parish church of Woodford, but since they were non conformists not much is recorded about them. I believe they were Baptists.

There was an Anne Eaton, daughter of Peter Eaton born in 1783. That family lived in Old. That is the closest date that I have.

I am sorry. There just isn't enough info to link them to a particular family. I have been able to do that with Thomas Eaton through his wills. I have looked at most of the wills but don't remember seeing anything about Ann being the wife of Anthony Smith.

Wish I could be of more help.Karen

It's been about ten years since you first posted your inquiry. I don't know if this is still pending.

Olive Olivia Coombs is my wife's second great grand aunt.

She was murdered, supposedly by a drunk in Cedar City, Utah. Apparently he told authorities she was a prostitute (totally incorrect. She was a school teacher after her husband's death in 1860.) He also accused her of asking too many questions about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and writing information in a black book. She actually sought family property that disappeared at the death of her husband. She is buried in an unmarked grave north of Cedar City, Utah.

I came across this message and a couple of names intrigues me, your name Harris as well as the Walker line.

Does your Harris line go back to a Nathan Harris, husband of Rhoda Lapham. One of their sons was Martin Harris, one of the three witnesses.

The Walker line; is there any connection to a Samuel Walker husband of Phoebe Green and does this line connect into a family by the name of West?

You can email me direcly at: dcraw1 at tampabay.rr.com

Dan
I cannot believe all the work you must have done to find all this information and I am not sure how I can thank you. This is right up there with finding a long lost cousin. I will start looking at and copying all this information.

Just at a glance I can see my Grandmother there as well as most of her brothers and sisters.

Not sure who you are or if I will ever be able to help you some day, but let me know if I can.

Thanks again.
