Dee E. Porter, age 78, passed away June 20, 2005 in St.
George, Utah. Dee was born February 8, 1927 in LaVerkin,
Utah to Nathan Alma Porter and Vida Martina Elder. He
married his sweetheart Lorna Anderson on July 12, 1947 in
Fredonia, Arizona. Later solemnized in the St. George Temple.
He is survived by his wife Lorna A. Porter, daughters;
Linda (Hal) Lamb of Somerset, California, Pamela (Mack N.)
Roundy of Glendale, Utah, and Vickie (Larry) Stanger of Santa
Clara, Utah, son: Bobby (Jill) Porter of Redmond, Utah, 16
grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one sister Marie
Larsen of Kingston, Utah. Dee was preceded in death by his
mother and father, and four brothers; Grandon, Lerin, Ray,
and Lyle. Dee served his country in the Armed Forces during World War
II. He served in his community in many positions including
Mayor of Glendale and was an active leader in his church.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 25, 2005, in the
Glendale Ward Chapel, Glendale, Utah. Burial was in the
Glendale City Cemetery.
