Burton L. Hanson
NEPHI/LEAMINGTON Burton Lowell Hanson, age 77, passed away Oct. 9, 2002 in Provo. Born April 10, 1925 in Leamington to Lowell Allison and Loreta Dutson Hanson. Married Carma Bunker December 9, 1944 in Provo. Later solemnized in Manti Temple.
Loved outdoors choosing lifetime occupations of farming and employee of UP Railroad, working 35 years as track inspector and section foreman. Blessed as handyman enjoying carpentry, building and creating unique projects. Delighted in helping neighbors and community projects. Served in the U S Infantry during World War II, stationed in Korea.
Active member LDS Church, serving as Ward Clerk, Bishopric Counselor, Home Teacher, Scoutmaster, Stake Family History worker and many other callings. Strong testimony of Savior. Revered Lord's handiwork in nature participated in hunting, fishing, snowmobiling four wheeling. Remembered for zest for living life and love of family that permeated everything he did.
Survived by wife: Carma Bunker, Nephi; children: David (Deloris) Hanson, Midvale; Marcia (Lee) Tippetts, Sutherland; Kim (Lynette) Hanson, Leamington; Shauna (Bill) Nelson, Delta; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters: Pauline Lewis, Lindon; Cora Crompton, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Preceded in Death by sisters: Meleese Bishop, Ora Burke, Helen Quarenberg. Funeral services Monday October 14, 2002, 11:00 am, Leamington Ward. Friends call Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Nickle Mortuary, Delta, 7-8 p.m. and at Church Monday 9:30-10:40 am. Burial Delta Cemetery.
