Henry (Hank) A. Bott, Jr.
"The Official Hugger"

Passing on to the "Ultimate Golf Course," February 22, 2004, Hank was lovingly greeted by Beth, his beloved mate of 62 years, who upon meeting him asked, "Did you bring your putter?" Hank celebrated 86 years of life filled with love and kindness. His walk in life was one of a hard worker, spending many years as head grounds keeper at Hogle Zoo. Hank and Beth retired to St. George where his passion became golf and we were all proud of the four "holes in one" he achieved over the years. He expressed a fond farewell to his golfing buddies at Twin Lakes Golf Course. He was also well known at his favorite eating places as the "Official Hugger."

Hank was born June 11, 1917 in Delta, Utah to Henry and Marie Bott.

He is survived by five sons, Dale (Eileen), Russell (Sandi), Salt Lake City; Paul (Sherrie), El Sobrante, CA; Dan (Connie) Evanston, WY; Dennis Bott, St. George, UT; and his daughter, Rev. Joan Hopkins also of St. George, UT; a sister, Veniece (Roy) Parkin, Woods Cross. Hank leaves 24 grandchildren, 36 great, many great-great, and two great-great-great grandchildren. Hank has the honor of being the eldest of five generations of first born males, who will carry on his name.

Friends are invited to share in a celebration of Hank's life at 10 a.m. Friday, February 27th at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Entombment in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Dennis Moore and IHC Hospice for their extraordinary loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations given in his name to IHC Hospice, 1240 E. 100 S. Ste. 219, St. George, UT, 84790, would be appreciated.
