Obituary: Afton Jones Dickson

Afton Jean Williams Jones Dickson passed away peacefully on December 30, 2000.

Born August 7, 1924 in Ogden Utah to Thomas Rees Williams and Margaret Romyn. Afton married L. Arnold Jones on April 30, 1942. Together they had a long and happy life. They raised two sons, Steven and Brent, whom they were every proud of. Afton and Arnold were very active in various Shriner and Masonic organizations. They served as Worthy Matron & Worthy Patron, Radiant Chapter #12 order of Eastern Star 1968. She was Queen of Lybia Temple #32, Daughters of the Nile in 1964. Arnold passed away in 1989. He left his duchess to dance alone. She later married Dave Dickson he died in 1998.

Afton is survived by her sons, daughters-in law, grandkids. Son-Steve, Pat, Tiffany, Meggen Jones all Northern Ca. Tammy and Dan of Utah. Son-Brent, Shanna, Justin, Brian Jones all of Southern Ca. Brothers: Jim & Vicki Williams Salt Lake City; Neil and Bev Williams of Mi. Numerous nephews, and nieces, especially Miss Shelly Williams.

Afton was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Jay. Afton is also survived by "My Tina" and her family. Rick, Tina, Ricky and Lacey Simmons.

We would like to thank Dr. Mary Jane Norman, Dr. Kenneth Granke, and the entire staff at Draper Rehab and care Center for their tender and loving Care.

A memorial service and celebration of Aftons Life for family and friends will be: Sunday January 7, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Estates 3401 South Highland Dr. Rev. Ronald Hodges of Christ United Methodist Church.
