My father's name is Walter Clarence Chalk who went by the name of Sebring as his last name when his father was killed sometime around 1901, his mother remarried a Henry Arthur Sebring. His father's name is Whitfield Chalk whom we suspect is Albert Whitfield Chalk. I say suspect because Albert Whitfield was working on a ranch near Deming NM on the 1900 census. He was killed when he was kicked in the head by a horse. He was working as a drover at the time of the accident. At the same time he is listed in a different county as the spouse and father of my grandmother Mary Ann Sebring.
