I have a two page descendancy of your G-Grandfather Ebenezer Godfrey Defriez-- My Great Grandmother was his younger sister, Frances Godfrey DeFriez, who came to the US with her mother Mary Anne Godfrey Defriez Baker. (Actually after she came to Utah she married a man named
Baker as a polygamus wife- -1st Baker wife didn't like Mary Anne & she was becoming blind so she went to live with her daughter, Frances, & husband, Samuel Walter Jarvis, in the colonies in Mexico.--I mention this because if you look at the Hymn "Master the Tempest is Raging" you notice that MAA. Baker is listed as the author of the words. We have written witness that Mary Anne Godfrey Defriez Baker - my -& yours- g-great grandmother wrote those words.)

I am a descent of E.B. DeFriez. My mother's maiden name is DeFriez. She is from Huntington, Utah. I am sure it is the same person, not a very common name. There are quite a few of descents in Northern Utah. Let me know if I can help you more. Leslie Hobbs
