First, does anyone know if Diane is still with us and visiting these boards?
Second, I know that there had been some discussion of whether Julius, Julian, Francis Nelson and Joseph were brothers or no. Here, it seems Diane has some evidence in a letter (which I'd LOVE to see!!!) that Julius and Francis are brothers.

I've been combing over Julius Laport(e)'s Civil War Pension file (over 150 pages!!) after letting it sit for quite a while and I saw reference to Julius Laporte owning property. I was first interested in finding out where it was to locate Julius on the map at a point in time. But his widow indicated that the "Julius" on the clerk's records as owning the property was his "nephew." This would seem to provide further support that Julius and Julian are brothers (Julian has a son Julius that apppears in at least one census record).
