Some researchers suggest that the widow of John Hibbard, who died in 1800 in Royalton, VT, married as second husband, Samuel Denison. A date of "before July 1806" is suggested, but with no sources given for that date.

Abigail and John lived in Windsor County (Royalton). After John's death, "Sister Abigail Hibbard" is then referred to as "Abigail Denison" in The Baptized Brethren of Royalton.

Samuel Denison is reported to have died in Castleton, or West Rutland.
