Don't know if this information is helpful to you, but I am also researching the Bayly/Bailey family from Isle of Wight, VA, and found that Margaret ker Robins did in fact free her slaves by manumission at the end of the year of 1815 (the year Margaret died). Those slaves, "Ladock, Peter, Jack, Rachel, Agnes, along with Letty, Leah and Sabra, the children of said Agnes" then filed a petition in Accomack County, VA so that they might be allowed to stay in Accomack County. I believe that petition was denied, since I later find Rachel Bayly in Isle of Wight county, VA on the 1850 Fed. Census.
