Hello Pat,

I am African American and my family is Corbins of Essex county area Virginia.
I have been doing research on my family for about 5 years now, running into alot of road blocks. I've researched the Corbins for England hoping to make some sort of connection. I'm hung up around the late 1700's,to early 1800's, I've obtained a great deal of info on the Corbins of England, plantations, family wills, slave lists etc. also photocopies of the family members.
Henry Corbin,1st Corbin to arrive from England came to VA. with large land holdings in Middlesex, King and Queen Co., and other areas, I have more info.
My grandmothers great grandfather was Clarborne Corbin, his wife was Martha Beazley-Corbin, not sure where they came from, they had a son William Thomas Corbin b. May 16,1846, his wife Ruth Matilda Blake-Corbin b. Aug. 1856, they were married Aug. 29, 1894. they resided in Essex County. I found them on the Census in this area in 1880. Had 6 children. Matilda(Tilly) parents were Morris Blake and Ellen Beazley-Blake, they had 10 children. Not sure how Martha and Ellen are related(Beazley).
Would like any info on William Thomas Corbin, sib's,where he came from, etc. or any information that can be provided.
Thank you for listening!
