I am trying to figure out whether my ancestor, John Eubank, was brother to your Joseph and served in his stead briefly during the War of 1812. There was a pension application by my John's wife, Catherine Norvell, and other records that appear to fit, but what confuses me is a source that indicates a brother John died in 1807, much earlier than mine. Could there have been an error or more than one John in the same family?
