Wondering if anyone knows anything about a Carsley family that migrated to Amelia from (likely) Surry County, VA in the early 1800s. Micajah is enumerated there in the 1830 census.

Micajah married an Elizabeth Foster from Amelia in 1831, and they had the following children (that I know of):

Mary, born about 1832

James E, born about 1833 who I believe died in or near Richmond in 1862 as a soldier in the 14 VA Infantry

Elizabeth W, born about 1834

Joseph F, born about 1836 and married a Martha Shepard in 1867. They had one child that I know of, Theodore, who it doesn't appear ever married as I can trace him as single to the 1920 census.

Micajah's mother was Polly Burgess, from Surry County. I have studied the Burgesses of Surry County extensively, and am interested in this branch of the Carsleys for completenes.

I'd appreciate anything anyone can share.

Thanks,
Scott
