As with any source, please be advised that there are many mistakes! I have seen a copy and am not sure where one would obtain a copy. The information that I gleaned was very helpful, but again, it had mistakes in spelling and in information. It is a start.

The Appomattox Historical Society has a wonderful book entitled, "Cemeteries of Appomattox County Volume I". It is an excellent source for graves (public cemeteries and private cemeteries) in Appomattox County.

The Chamber of Commerce also had a book created on Families of Appomattox County. It is also an excellent source of present families living in our community.

If I can help you acquire any of these books, just let me know by email. I live in Appomattox County and have lived here for 61 years. I taught history in Appomattox for 38 years also.
