So sorry to have missed your email years ago, hope this still gets to you. As you might have guessed, I did not receive it, partly because the email I had then was soon after shut down.
What I can tell you is that Flavia(family says she was called Flava) married Bill E. White(per 1930 Harlan County Census) and some time before the 1950's(probably, based on family stories, more like the late thirties early forties) they moved with some of her brothers, to Battle Creek Michigan to work in the car factories. A couple more of her brothers(and cousins) took their families to Florida to work on the fruit farms, and still others went to Texas and worked/owned oil rigs. Flava is my husband' paternal great-grandmother. She died in Michigan, but am unsure when. It was sometime before 1977, as she was already dead when my in-laws were married. Flava had several children, all of which I am unfamiliar with, but her son Ralph Donald, was my husband's grandfather. He died 1 April 1992 in Paw Paw Michigan from throat and mouth cancer. Ralph married Erma Elizabeth Hicks, and they had three children, Linda Lou, Erma Yvonne, and Kenneth Earl, my father-in-law. Erma and Ralph divorced, and both remarried. He married Elsie ?, who was a German born woman. Elsie is still alive, though is up in years. In fourteen years of marriage, I have not met her. There were some issues between Ralph and his children, so we don't have much info on them. My father-in-law, Kenneth, enlisted in the army before he graduated high school, and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he met my mil, Joy Glisson. They were married 30 January 1977 in Fairdale, Jefferson County, Kentucky. They have two children, my husband Kenny, 15 Aug 1977, and his brother, Jamie Lee, born 18 Jan 1984. I have some further info I will be happy to share, if you would like to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
