Joseph Davidson married Jinny Wilson in Rockbridge on 5 Mar 1805. Jinny was the daughter of James Wilson, and her brother was John Wilson. Reverend Daniel Blaine (Presbyterian) performed the ceremony. I suspect (by the process of elimination) that Joseph Davidson was the son of William and Martha (Baker) Davidson of Botetourt Co., VA. William and Martha had lived in Rockbridge Co., VA until about 1781 when they sold their home there to a John Thompson and moved to Botetourt.

William and Martha (Baker) Davidson's son Joseph died in 1814, and he left a will inventory at the Botetourt courthouse. He was the only son mentioned by name in his father's 1812 will, but the father William Davidson had a total of 4 living sons in 1812, including the well-known Rockbridge Co., VA minister, Rev. Andrew Baker Davidson. A fifth son named Baker Davidson had already died in 1805 (per his will inventory).

Does anyone have any additional information on the above Wilson family? Did Joseph and Jinny have any children (note: the 1812 will of William Davidson seemed to imply that Joseph had no children in 1812, but it was hard to read, plus Joseph lived for two more years after that). Thanks!
