I would like to study a history or genealogy book on the tri-state area whose borders were settled by the Mason-Dixon survey of 1763-67. Two books have been recommended to me but they are, unfortunately, so obscure that even as a librarian I have been unable to obtain them. Perhaps there are good websites that I haven't found yet. Any suggestions appreciated.
Also, did Rockbridge Co, come from Augusta Co, come from Botecourt, Orange or Frederick Co. What order?
