in my ancestry research I have only found that in William Henderson "Hunter" Cavendish's will he left Nancy $100 "and my other children except Nancy equal shares" of the money from the executors' sale of the plantation in Bath county. Why didn't Nancy get more than $100? And he did refer to "My other children" which made it seem like Nancy was a child of his. When he died his children still living were Jane, Rebecca, Sarah, Margaret and Andrew. Moses was actually a son of Alice (third wife) so he was a McClintic. Perhaps since his second wife was named Jane, he called his daughter from his marriage to Mary McCoy "nancy" as a nickname. She had a daughter she named Nancy McClung about 10 years before grandfather William Cavendish died, so maybe he had raised this grandchild some and treated her like his own? One thing is for sure, Nancy was named in his will.
