I seem to recall that Turnip Creek is mostly in now Charlotte county. The Caldwells were the founders of the old Cubb Creek Presbyterian Meeting House back in the 1740's and they owned land there. Turnip Creek is very near the line between Charlotte and now Campbell county. This area was once in old Lunenburg county and later the original Bedford and Prince Edward counties. You need the Delorme Atlas and Gazeteer to find it on the map. You can find it here-- http://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DELibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?sect...
You can buy them from Barnes and Noble or amazon for 20 bucks. They show every little creek and landmark and you can buy the Atlas for Virginia or any other state. These are an absolute necessity when searching for old deeds. Good luck. Edwin D. Irvin
