Bedford Arthur Family not from Cullybackey Ireland

Classification: Query
Surnames: Arthur, Arters, Arthurs, Arter
I've reached stone walls researching the Bedford arrival/origin of the Arthur Family. This week I've discovered that some of the problem may be in attributing the family's origins as Cullybackey, Northern Ireland.

Ancestry records that appear to be tied to this family (family history of first names John, William, Thomas, Barnabas) come from Dublin Ireland (particularly Saint Michan Church, Dublin, Ireland) with some roots in Southern Scotland/Yorkshire England.

The family may also have traveled to Barbados/Jamaica before arriving in the Tidewater area of Virginia before moving west to the Blue Ridge.

Cullybackey, Northern Ireland was the ancestral home of the American President Chester A. Arthur. I think that somebody may have locked on to this surname and location very early in their research - erroneously - and it stuck, leaving those of us who came after frustrated at the lack of supporting documents.

Any other thoughts on this?
