John Campbell of Orange county? and the Hat Creek Irvins

Classification: Query
Surnames: Campbell, Irvin
In 1763, in what was then Bedford county, Virginia, (later Campbell county) two of my kin, John Irvin/Irwin/Erwin/Irvine, and his son Abraham Irvin, bought two parcels of land from one "John Campbell of Orange county". One parcel was for 416 acres and the other was 400 acres. This land was on the Little Falling river near Hat Creek, Virginia, very near what later became the Campbell county/Charlotte county line. These deeds were also witnessed by one Josias Campbell, no relation given. John Campbell had patented the land in 1756 before selling it to the Irvins. Does anyone know anything about this John Campbell? The Irvins had moved from Cumberland county, Pa. near Shippensburg. I am wondering if perhaps John Irvin had met John Campbell back in Pa. before moving to Virginia??
