Surnames: Camper, Craft
Benjamin Richard Craft, Sr, 1776-after 1860, married Sarah (Sallie) Becker, not Elizabeth Camper. Benjamin's brother, David Jonathan Craft married "Betsy" Camper. Dates for Benjamin's alleged marriage to Elizabeth and David's marriage to "Betsy" are the same.

Benjamin and Sarah were my paternal gg grandparents, and ended up in Craig's Creek section of Craig Co, Va.

There is quite a bit of documentation that the Craft and Camper families migrated together down the Valley of Va.

On edit: Botetourt Co. marriage and Chancery Court records show that Benjamin Richard Craft was actually either Daniel Benjamin or Benjamin Daniel Craft, and he, not David Jonathan Craft, was married to Elizabeth (Betsy) Camper, mother of Erastus Camper. It is most likely that Benjamin's name was Daniel Benjamin Craft, but in keeping with German naming practices, he went by his "call" name, Benjamin. Benjamin and Betsy had 2 children, William and Mary.

After Betsy's death, Benjamin married Sarah Becker (or Spencer, or Parker, depending on the source), and they had 10 children. They lived in the Back Creek area near Jackson (now Springwood), died sometime after June 1860 in Craig Co, Va. Their son, John Spencer Craft, was my g. grandfather. His son, Charles LaFayette Craft, was my grandfather, and his son, Robert Frazier Craft, was my father.

I have a good deal of info on this family, which I would be happy to share, including the names of all the children.
