Below are notes I have for William's father Peter. You'll note that Peter moved to Montgomery County, KY to his daughter Jane Guerrant Anderson, and there he died.
Peter, the father of your search William, has his will in Montgomery County, KY and he bequeathes to the children of his deceased son William. His will is dated 30 JUL 1817, proved 1819.

MARRIAGE: Mary Perrow, 25 NOV 1756, Goochland County, VA. She was born ca. 1738, died 22 JUL 1805 Buckingham County, VA. She was a daughter of Daniel and Mary Perrow and the granddaughter of Charles Perreau (Perrow), Huguenot
MILITARY: Peter Guerrant is listed in the DAR Patriot Index as captain and also as patriot for having furnished supplies in the Revolution. Public Claims for Buckingham County Court held:
5 APR 1782: Peter Guerrant for 1 waggon & geer 30 pounds, 1 flee bitten horse 10-12 years old 25 pounds, 1 horse same age 20 pounds, 1 horse 6/7 years 27 pounds 10, 1 horse 13 years 23 pounds impressed by George Elliot A.D.Q.M.G. pr his cert. June 1781, waggon & team never returned 125 pounds
10. Also assignee for 674# beef.
June 1784: 350# beef for 2 pounds 18 shillings 4 pence, and 750# beef for 6 pounds
RESIDENCES: After Mary's death, Peter Guerrant moved to the home of his daughter Jane Guerrant Anderson in Montgomery County, KY where he died.
WILL: His will was written in Montgomery County, Kentucky on 30 JUL 1817 and proved 1819. It names children John, Magdalene, Mary, Peter, Stephen, Jane, Charles, Daniel
AND grandchildren Henry E. Guerrant, Martha Guerrant,
children of deceased son, William.
BAPTISM: His baptismal godparents were Pierre David; Anne the younger, and Guerrant the younger.
