Richard Sorrell, William Sorrell, John Sorrell, & Elisha Sorrell are listed on page 229 of Wingfield's History of Caroline County, Virginia, by Marshall Wingfield. They are all on a list of Revolutionary Soldiers of Caroline County. If that isn't the proof you need, perhaps you could write to the National Archives for their Revolutionary War records. You must submit each name on a separate form, which you can obtain from them. John Sorrell born in 1764 married Elizabeth Hawes born 1783, the granddaughter of my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather, Samuel Hawes I, and they are in the family history book I am writing, "Hawes Family of Virginia and Their Allied Families".
