Smiths in Caroline Co., VA-1810 Census

Classification: Query
Surnames: Smith, Bennett
There were several Smiths on the 1810 Caroline Co., VA census. These were: Rice Smith (age 26-45), Christopher Smith (over the age of 45), Elizabeth Smith (over the age of 45), Jury Smith (over the age of 45), Francis Smith (age 26-45) and Richard Smith (over the age of 45). Can anyone "connect" each of these people to a particular Smith family in VA from the 1700s?

There was also a Francis Smith on the 1810 Essex Co., VA census. Was there any "connection" between these two Francis Smiths (or between any of the Smiths in Essex County and any of the Smiths in Caroline County)?

In the 1820s, a John R. Smith was mentioned in the estate papers of a man named Smith Bennett in Middlesex Co., VA. In 1830, that John R. Smith appeared on the Middlesex Co., VA census (there had been NO Smiths on the 1810 and 1820 censuses in Middlesex County). In the 1840s, that John R. Smith left a will in Middlesex County that mentioned his children named James M. Smith and Susan E. Smith. Does anyone know if this John R. Smith came into Middlesex from Caroline Co., VA (or Essex Co., VA)? Thanks!
