Online Research Information

Surnames: Woolfolk, Shakespeare, Ellis, Hawkins, Waugh, Hart, Gallery/Galloway and Ferguson.
I am researching the Woolfolk/Woodfork and Shakespeare surname in Caroline and Spotsylvania County, VA. Other surnames I am researching are: Ellis, Hawkins, Waugh, Hart, Gallery/Galloway and Ferguson.

I created a genealogy website to share the results of my research (http://www.woodforkgenealogy.com). In addition to my family history, my website also contains information on the areas in which my ancestors lived that is useful to people performing genealogy research in the same area.

The Caroline County page contains information about the people and communities in the area that became AP Hill. There is a Plat Map and Plat Map data for land that was purchased by the government and a list of churches and church cemeteries (including the names of people buried in the cemeteries). There is also the index for all the graves that were moved from the AP Hill area to other cemeteries, as well as, links to several Freedmen Bureau Records. You can view this information by accessing my website http://www.woodforkgenealogy.com), clicking “Communities” and then “Caroline County, VA”.

I also send out a newsletter containing helpful information that I have not yet added to my website. The latest newsletter contains research tips including: links for online obituaries, online maps and photographs and Fredericksburg online court records (including marriage information). If you would like to receive my newsletter, you can visit my website (http://www.woodforkgenealogy.com), click “Contact Me” and enter your email address in the “Join Our Mailing List” box.

I also have access to a list of graves for Mount Lawn Cemetery on Woodford Rd in Caroline County, VA. I will be happy to lookup a few names for you.
Feel free to contact me at marion@woodforkgenealogy.com if you have any question or comments.

Thanks,
Marion Woodfork Simmons
