Here is my line as far as I am able to research thus far.
I found this information just today. I have always known my 5th Great Grandfather was (William Watkins) born abt 1690 and married to Martha Herndon of King and Queen County, VA . William was born in Henrico county, VA .
What I found was this.
Written by James Paul Watkins to John Hale Stutesman-who has written many books on the Watkins of Virginia.

At the settling of Jamestown in VA I am told there were 3 brothers Daniel, Henry and Peregin Watkins of Welsh origin, one of which was my great great grandfather. That was killed by indians leaving a wife and one son and two daughters.
The son was my Grandfather William Watkins he lived I believe in Chesterfield county for some time and raised a family of 6 sons and daughters.
