To all &ca: Whereas &ca: Now Know yee that I the sd: ffrancis Nicholson Esqr. Governor &ca: Doe with the advice and Consent of the Councill of State accordingly Give and Grant unto Capt: William Hunt a tract of Land Containing four thousand three hundred forty two acres lying in Charles City County on both sides of Nottaway River and runs as followeth Begining at a greate old red oake standing by a Sweet Gum on the North side of Nottaway River being a Corner tree of the Colledge Land and runing thence East three quarters of a Degree & an Eighth North two hundred and sixty poles to two black oakes thence North three quarters of a Degree and an Eighth West along the Colledge Land three hundred and Eighty poles to a red oake thence East three quarters of a Degree and an Eighth North Ninety two poles to a black oake thence South three quarters of a Degree and an Eighth East an hundred fifty eight pole to a red oake thence East tenn Degrees one quarter and an Eighth South thirty six poles to an hiccory thence South twenty three Degrees and an eighth East seven hundred sixty six poles to a hiccory thence South forty four Degrees and an helfe west seven hundred and Eighty poles (this last Course is a good distance from the old line and within the same) to three white oakes thence South forty five degrees and an halfe East forty poles to a red oake and a pine thence South forty four Degrees & an halfe west an hundred forty six poles to a red oake and a white oake thence South seven degrees and an Eighth west forty four poles to an old white oake by a black Gum thence South five Degrees one quarter and an Eighth west twenty six poles to a white oake on the bank of Nottaway River on the North side the same Marked with W-H being for the said Hunts name (is one of the Corner trees of Liggons survey) thence over Nottaway River (which is about ten poles wide) on a South Sixty eight Degrees west Course to the bank on the South Side the River thence South sixty eight Degrees west fifteen poles to a white oake on the south side of Nottaway River thence south tenn degrees three Quarters and an Eighth west an hundred and nine pole to a black Gum by a Meadow on the side of an hill thence south one Degree one quarter and an Eighth East forty three poles to an hiccory Sapplin on the hill side by the Meadow thence west one Degree one Quarter and an Eighth south twenty nine poles and a third to a red oake thence west fity four Degrees three quarters and an Eighth North an hundred ninety four poles to a red oake thence North one Degree one Quarter & an Eighth West an hundred and Eighty poles and a third to a hiccory Sapplin thence West sixty six Degrees three quarters and an Eighth North Eighty three poles and a third to a red oake thence west forty four Degrees three quarters and an eighth North forty five poles to an old broken topped red oake (standing two thirds of a pole to the left hand of this Line) thence from the said red oake) west twenty two Degrees three quarters and an Eighth North thirty six poles to a red oake in sight of a Meadow thence North three quarters of a degree west seventy three poles and a third to three red oakes thence North thirty five Degrees and an eighth East four hundred and fourteen poles to a white oake by the Creeke of an Island thence along the Meanders of the Island Creeke west thirty Eight Degrees North twenty two poles and North three quarters of a Degree and an Eighth west fifty five poles to a Gutt Comeing out of the South side of Nottaway River thence over the said River and up along the North side of the same according to the Meanders thereof to the begining Includeing all Islands next adjacent to the said Land in the said River within the bounds of this Land the said Land being Due unto the said Capt. William Hunt by and for the transportation of Eighty seven persons into this Colony whose names are to be in the Records Mentioned under this Patent To have and To hold &ca: To be held &ca: Yeilding & Paying &ca: Provided &ca: Given under my hand and the Seale of the Colony this 24th: Day of october Anno Dom 1702
