Hello I am curious why John Gatewood was named twice in land patents.

-1st by Thomas Buttons who gets a land patent on 19 Jul 1666 based on transport of 76 persons inc John Gat(e)wood (Cavaliers & Pioneers, abstracts from of Virginia Land Patents and Grants 1623-1666, Vol. 1 Patent Book 5, pp 561-522.)

-2nd by Col. John Catlett who on 2 Jun 1666 gets a land patent based on transport of 10 persons inc John Gat(e)wood (Cavaliers and Pioneers Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents and Grants 1623-1800, by Nell M. Nugent, p 558.)

I can guess up a storm to explain this - but does anyone know the facts? Thanks in advance!
