I am looking for some information in a Free State family Bible somewhere. The mystery person is one SARAH FAIR, listed as being born in January 1752. Our family, the descendents of Nathaniel Gilmore Carter, have a bodice-ripping yarn of one colonial Capt. Nathaniel Carter, a colonial Virginia seaman, meeting, courting and absconding with one ELIZABETH FAIR, the daughter of an Englishman in the Old Country (I live in the UK and -believe me- it is OLD! Still thinks we are the Colonies). I don't believe this, but I want someone to prove me wrong. Somewhere someone has a Bible listing a Sarah Fair, who may have been the mother of Francis, Nathaniel and John Carter, born immediately before and after the Revolution in Prince William County. Also looking for info re Francis Carter, who served in the Colonial Virginia Navy aboard the vessel Dragon and who received bounty land. Need the name of his parents.
