I'm looking for a source to confirm the names of the parents of my (x4) great Grandfather, John King. He was born in 1759 in an unknown location and died in 1843 in Floyd County, Virginia. He served in the Revolution as a private after volunteering in Maryland in 1778 and was discharged in 1781 in Camden, SC. He was married to Sarah Addair in 1799 and possibly again to Margaret (or Peggy) Anderson. He had the following children: Henry D., Elizabeth, Rosanna, Massa, Nancy, Mahala, and Catherine.

There are numerous sources that claim his father was "Captain" John King, b. 1730, d. 1760 (or 1814) and mother was Katherine (or Catherine) Leonard from Taunton (or Raynham), Massachusetts, but extensive digging can't confirm this and contradicts verbal history that the Virginia King's descended from Holland.

Is there anybody out there possessing a piece of information that can deny or confirm the above?
