I have run across a U.S. Army record that has an Elijah Starkey who was born in Franklin County, Virginia. It states he enlisted in 1818 in North Carolina and was discharged in 1821. His age is consistent with the Elijah who I have as the husband of Elizabeth Gaddy. Could this be the same Elijah Starkey who was married to Elizabeth Gaddy or is there another Elijah that I do not know about from Franklin County. Most have him dying prior to 1817 as his children were indentured because he just disappeared. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
