My g-g-grandfather was James McPherson (married to Sarah E. Pettit), who was born in Giles County on November 4, 1852. According to their marriage record of December 4, 1873, (they were married in Giles), his parents were Andrew and Susan McPherson and her parents were Robert and Martha Pettit. I haven't had any luck finding an Andrew and Susan McPherson in Giles County though. I know Adam McPherson (son of Jacob and Phebe) had a wife named Susan Ross, and they had a son named James. Could it be the same family?

Also, Sarah E. (Sallie) Pettit died at Interior, Giles County in February 1939. Can anybody help with an actual date of death and place of burial? She is buried in Giles also.
