Surnames: Turner, Bishop, Epps
Sallie J. Turner was my 2nd great grand aunt. I believe that she was born in Southampton county around 1880 and raised in Emporia. Her parents were Josephine Turner (Epps) and Rev. John H. Turner

Our written family record indicates that Sallie was a governess. I believe that I located her in the 1900 US Census listed as a servant in the household of Rev. William Frost Bishop in Liberty City, Clay County, Missouri. Rev. Bishop was an educator a private school in Emporia for a time. Later, he moved west to Missouri.

By 1910, Sallie was back at home in Norfolk, VA. The Bishop children had grown to adults.

The purpose of this query is to find more information about Sallie and to verify if she indeed was a governess for Rev. Bishop, if possible.

Thank you for any and all information.
