Classification: Query
Surnames: THOMPSON
The sons of John THOMPSON and Mary UNKNOWN are listed in the 1767 Pittsylvania Co., VA, tithables. As this is about the time period when Pittsylvania Co. was formed from Halifax, I believe John may have remained in Halifax. John and Mary's children were Anne, b. 1734; Archibald, b. 1736; Mary, 1739; Lucy, 1742; Betty, 1744; Rebekah, b. 1745; George, 1747; Roden, 1749. Archibald left a Diary, the transcript and index of which can be found at Doug Moore's web page at http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore .
I will appreciate any information to help me locate this family.
