How would one go about locating a list, if there was one, for the CSA men who were buried at this cemetery?? Same for other cemeteries that buried those CSA men who died either in battle..... or later at a field hospital, as the result of a battle. A great many were buried, without being identified, but I'm trying to find the lists of those who were luckier than that.

I'm STILL searching for Jasin GREEN who disappeared summer of 1863... just about a month after his brother Leighton GREEN. Both were born/raised in Bedford and Coffee Co's TN. Neither ever came home from the war.

They were both in Co. B [Turney's Unit], First TN infantry Regiment...... from Apr 1861 thru until Apr and May of 1863. They were both reported officially as deserters... an automatic solution to absences, and was never followed-up on. No one had the time, nor resources, to search the Union Hospitals or Prison Detention Camps.... for missing CSA men.

I have searched their military records, which is why I know that they were declared to be deserters, but that wasn't their mode of thinking. Leighton had been stationed up in VA... and had been working as recruiter there. He was awarded several commendations for his work... then he came up missing. Just over a month later, Jasin, who was also in the same area.... also came up missing. I have looked thru the lists for wounded or killed... at the battles where their Unit was involved and their names weren't on those lists, but those who were taken Prisoner... if there were lists.... have so far eluded me.

I was once told that Leighton had died at Chicamauga... but he was NOT found anywhere on their casualty lists. I was also told that Jasin [Jason] may have died near Gold Run in GA, just before the fall of Atlanta, but again..... after checking the lists of dead and injured.... I have found nothing.

At this point... I am trying to check all Hospital Records, Cemeteries and Prison Camps. Sadly.... all of these buried large numbers of unidentified men.... so this is a difficult search all the way around.

Any suggestions.... would be appreciated.
