Jesse Frayser et al are an interesting choice, and some of what you've observed may bear fruit. The 100 acres to Mildred Gay, "...lying on the south side of the main Charles City Court house road which I purchased of Robert Pleasants, for life then to her children..." is unfortunately not a good match, as the land in question serving as the brigade HQ is about 4 miles due east, and north of the Williamsburg Road, or about 3 miles north of the described probated property.
The chancery cases may clarify things a bit, and the 1855 property division as well. If I get a few hours tomorrow, I'll see what joy the LVA films provide, and share with the group. My first foray was just a couple of hours the other day, with a quick scan of the suspects. For clarity's sake, here's a pastable text link to the map in question:http://www.mdgorman.com/images/ormap1.gif
Thanks again for the target list.
