I was not able to find a NC death certificate for your John "Jack" Murphy who died in 1938 and who married Nancy Murphy. He may have died in VA.

Nancy's father was Nathaniel Garland Murphy who was born circa 1824. Nathaniel's 1st wife was Elizabeth Robertson (they married Jul 25, 1846). and his 2nd wife was Susan Ann Evans who he married on Nov 7, 1896.
