DANVILLE REGISTER, Danville, Va., Thur., Aug. 13, 1908, p. 1, col. 2. Very long article, edited. Mr. William Thomas Law died yesterday at Culpeper, Va. The end came at the home of his son, Mr. P. B. Law, Jr., where he went about two months ago to make his home on account of failing health. He had been in declining health for several years. At various times of his life he was a merchant, warehouseman, tobacconist and Justice of the Peace. He was in the 87th year of his age and was born in Franklin county, being the son of the late Mr. Burwell Law. In 1836, while a small boy, he moved to Danville, to work. He joined the First Presbyterian Church here in Danville about 50 or 60 years ago. He belonged to the Odd Fellows of Danville. In 1843, he married Miss Catherine Price, daughter of the late George Price of this city, from which union there were six children, all of whom have died. In 1851, he married Miss Sallie Bailey of Lawsonville, N.C., who preceded him to the grave about eight years ago. The following children survived this union: Mr. O. B. Law of Norfolk, Mr. P. B. Law, Jr., of Culpeper, Mrs. Nannie Gunn of Rural Hall, N.C. and Miss Bertha Law of Culpeper. He also leaves a brother, Mr. P. B. Law of Danville, and a sister, Mrs. W. S. Robertson of Danville. A half-brother, Mr. James T. Law of Caswell county and a half-sister, Mrs. O. F. Robertson of Danville, also survive him. The remains will arrive here this afternoon by train, and they will be carried direct from the station to Green Hill cemetery for burial. [Ref. Green Hill Cemetery, Danville, Virginia, Vol. I, Burial Records, page 256, Sec. #ASH31: W. T. Law, Age 87, 8/13/1908].
