The following Eubank family us listed on the 1850 St. Stephen's Parish, K & Q County census: Catherine Eubank, widow; John L. (Laurence); George W.; Carter H.; and Elizabeth (Catherine) Eubank, sons and daughter of the widow Eubank; and finally Henry Benton Eubank, grandson and son of John L. Eubank. This family had relocated to the Eastern District of Henrico County by the mid 1850's because Elizabeh C. Eubank married William Rowles on 15 Sep 1856 in Henrico County and George W. Eubank married Ann Padgett 7 September 1857. Apparently John L. had remarried a woman named Fannie in King and Queen County prior to the move to Henrico County because by 1860 they are shown as having three daughters - Alberta, Cordelia and Willie Eugene. John's son, Henry Benton, was also listed in the household. Carter H. was still single and resided with his widowed mother Catherine Eubank in another household in Henrico County located on Venable Street in Richmond. Carter and his nephew, Henry Benton, joined the Confederate forces in 1861 (Henry Benton was 13 at the time) and fought til the end. The two of them migrated to Bowie County Texas shortly afterwards but the remainder of the family apparently stayed in Richmond. Catherine died in 1864; John Lawrence and his wife were still living as of 1884 in Richmond according to family letters although have been unable to locate them on any census after 1870. Alberta married a Sanford Valentine, blacksmith, in 1884 in Richmond, Va.
Does anyone have information as to the marriage of a Fannie _________ to a John Eubank in King and Queen County? Does anyone recognize this family? Any information appreciated as I am stuck...
