Bob,

I can tell that you have read my 2008 message, and it is this message that I have tried to have deleted.

The findings on Alexander Montgomery of Logan County are:

He came to Logan county, Kentucky in 1793.

He was last taxed in 1793 Sumner county, Tennessee.

He moved to Sumner County, Tennessee/North Carolina in 1787.

He moved from Washington County, Virginia to Sumner County
in the year of 1787.

He is found in the Washington County, Virginia tax lists
from 1782 through 1786 when he was last taxed.

From 1782 through 1786 Alexander Montgomery lived near
Luke Lamar.

Luke Lamar removed to Logan County, Kentucky by 1794 as he
was taxed there in that year.

Luke Lamar left his LW&T dated 1798 in Christian County,
Kentucky nameing his daughter as Mary Montgomery.

Professional Researchers tell me that Polly is a
nickname for the christian name of Mary.

In the year of 1782, Alexander Montgomery purchased 145
acres from Robert Tate. This 145 acres adjoining the lands
of Robert Tate. This 145 acres straddled the waters of
Little Mocassin Creek branch of North Holsten River.

This 1782 land document discribes the lands as following
Mocassin Creek that cuts through the Mocassin Gap which is
located was of Roebuck Virginia where Little Moicassin Creek
enters the North Fork of Holsten River.

All for now
