Sherry, I do not know if I ever answered your list message or not (poor memory). Anyway, I talked to my mother yesterday and asked about John Sparks. John's brother was Elgin, and Elgin's wife was Georgia. Their children were two sisters Shirley and Edna and son John L Sparks. They all lived around and on the side of Tacoma Mountain between Coeburn and Norton, Wise County, Virginia. John was killed in his house fire about 1970 in Coeburn. Mom mentioned a Walter Sparks and Becky Jane that lived in a house next door to ours up on Pine Camp, Stone Mountain just outside Coeburn, Wise County, Virginia. Walter has a daughter Alice that married Oddis Huff now living in Norton, Wise County, Virginia about ten miles away. Mom said John Sparks got drunk and broke Great Aunt Dori's arm. She left and went to live with her mother (my great grandmother Malinda A. (Osborne) Fannin)) in Pine Camp and lived in the same house that Becky Jane and Walter lived in. G-Aunt Dori never would go back and live with John. Mom said that John is buried back in the mountain near Flat Gap at the Moore Cemetary. Let me know if this helps. Denny
