Have you seen William F. Boogher, GLEANINGS IN VIRGINIA HISTORY (1903?) which has 40-50 pp on the NEWMANs of VA? My ancestors moved up from Essex Co to Prince William Co about 1770, but my own research has run into Loudoun Co NEWMANs at about the same time and I think Boogher makes a very brief reference to NEWMANs going to Loudoun. Thomas and John are very common names in the NEWMANs descended from the immigrant Thomas (d 1700), and there are several Alexanders along the way. My own gt grandfather James Thomas NEWMAN moves from Prince William Co to Loudoun some time after 1850, and his father Theron Wesley NEWMAN was partner in a store in Loudoun, though he lived just a couple of miles S of the Loudoun line in Prince William. At least two brothers of Theron's father James (Edmund and Obadiah) moved to KY after the Revolution, probably around 1800.
