Thank you for your response Marianne. It's quite possible they are related to your Hardys, as I have just recovered documents of a land sale in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in 1836 and the Thomas S. Hardy I was looking for is stated as being from Prince George's County, State of Maryland. He is obviously quite wealthy for that time, as the land purchased was for $5400. I also found the Slave Schedule for Thomas S. Hardy for 1850 and he owned 26 slaves. I'm thinking these may just be my ancestors. However there are a ton of Hardys, but I am getting closer to finding more about him and the Hardy family as I dig deeper.
