My husband's families are from the LOUDON Co, Va/Pooleville, Montgomery Co. Md area. I have been trying to make a definite connection back from Jonathan Benson who married Mary (Mary Anne) Talbot. A great aunt had a pedigree done by a Federal government agency around the 40s which brought the line down to Talbott county. Unfortunately she knew all the connections but none was documented. What I have is family tradition and what I have picked up through LDS and census records. I would certainly appreciate any assistance anyone could give. It would make a GREAT Christmas gift for my Mother-in-law, as well as the rest of the family. I have Annalizer BENSON, a several X greatgrandmother. Jonathan and Mary Benson had a daughter, Anne Elizabeth born 2 Feb.1827 in Frederick, Fred.Co. Md. and a son, Levi or Levin born/baptized 20 Nov 1819== ST Peter's Parish,Poolesville, Montgomery. Annalizer married Henry Mossburg 19 May 1845. Their daughter, Mary Catherine (She is also Molly C. on the marriage license) married George W. McIntosh 10 May 1868. Martha Frances McIntosh married John Thomas Popkins. Their son, Joseph, married Daisy McIntosh, a cousin, supposedly. He is found in a census with a nearby family, the Alders. I believe this family is connected backward to the Washington Myers who married a Margaret McIntosh in 1833. She was the daughter of a Rev. David MCIntosh, d. 1826, minister of the Catoctin Baptish Church who emigrated from Scotland. Brothers : David and William. 17 Dec 1864 George W. Alder married Hannah A. Myers. Some of this is from the Tavenner Collection at the Balch Library in Leesburg, Va. Some from Marriage License Lists, death records and the contemporary newpaper articles. Thanks for reading and any help you may extend.
