Familysearch has the following marriage record:

W. R. Owen [widower], son of Wylie and Mary Owen, born 1846 in Pittsylvania Co., VA to Ruth H. Merton/Morton on 19 Jun 1894 in Lunenburg Co., VA

Two posts on Genealogy.com had the following.

Wiley Owen was born Pittsylvania Co in 1802 and died somewhere near Danville VA @1897. He married Mary Woodson, daughter of Drury Woodson and Nancy Adams. Mary Woodson's parents were Drury Woodson and Nancy Adams. The Woodson line is very well documented I believe they go back to the Jamestown area. Again, Nancy Adams parents were Elkanah (Cain) Adams and Mary Ann Pigg, daughter of Paul Pigg and Sarah UNK.

A response to that post listed this:

...Wiley had 12 children: Miles W. Owen (1827-28),Martha J. Owen (1830), Mary E. Owen (1833), Lucy Owen (1834), Amanda J.Owen (1835), Letetia Owen (1838), Fanny Owen (1840), George Rufus Owen(1839), Nancy Owen (1840), Beverly B. Owen (1842) James Jefferson Owen(1843), and William Roy Owen (1846).

When Wiley Owen married Mary Ann Woodson, daughter of Drury Woodson and Nancy Adams, on that same day (Thursday, 2 Dec 1824) at the same church (Shockoe Baptist Church ) and by the same minister (Rev David Nowlin), Royall Owen also married Letita Woodson. Today, the ground for Shockoe Church contains an unmarked cemetery that is referred to as the "Owen burial ground". The present day church and that cemetery sit on land that belonged to Julius Owen and later, his son Miles Owen.

Wiley Owen lived in Pittsylvania County except for a brief period of timein 1850 when he farmed in Halifax County. Wiley was listed as an "overseer"in census records prior to the Civil War, but as a "farmer" after the War.
