A lot of information has been published about William Marshall Brownley (1803 - 1867). I understand several William M. Brownley's lived in Mathews at different times, however; I find several possible data conflicts with the above referneced Wm. M.
The Bromley-Brownley family Bible record, 1801-1975 at the Library of Virginia and Genealogies of Virginia Families lists William M Brownley as a son of John and Sarah Brownley. (maiden name unknown)
A newspaper obituary lists "William M Brownley (white) died Dec 18, 1867, 62 yr, son of John and Sally Brownley; Husband of Lucy Brownley. Born and died in Mathews.";
William's mother's name is listed as Sarah in the first two sources and as Sally in his obituary. Could this just be a typographical error?
Further the referenced to "A Familiy History Write-up found in the Brownley Bible by Eva Augusta Trower" contains a list of William's siblings: John 1801-1867, William Marshall 1803-1867, Sarah 1803, Milton Lafayette 1807, Rose Marshall 1809, LeVisa 1810, Dorathea 1812.
I have found obituaries (see my other post "Brownley Horn Harbour") that list other siblings to William M. Brownley ie: Leroy M Brownley 1828-1848. It is possbile that Leroy M, Robert W and Larkin C Brownley are half brothers.
Does anyone have any additional sources or information concerning Eva Augusta Trower referenced in the bible?
I would greatly appreciate collaboration from anyone with additional information.
