Surnames: Cox, Fore, Stone, Hall, Mayes, Winstead, Thompson
K.C.
I came up with the following:
John Cox Sr of Mecklenburg County died testate 20 March 1826, names wife Elizabeth, son Eli Cox, son John Cox: and "upon my wife's death residue divided between my following children":Frances Stone, John Cox, Cruey Myes, Elizabeth Thompson, Nancy Wall, Susanna Winston, and Eli Cox. This John Cox was known as John Cox of Bluestone, son of John Cox who died testate in Mecklenburg in 1793.
Upon looking at the names listed in the excerpt of John Cox's will dated 1826 the following names should probably be ammended: Cruey Myes, Nancy Wall, and Susanna Winston.
Cruey Myes should be Lucretia Mayes w/o William Mayes 12-29-1806
Nancy Wall should be Nancy Hall w/o Miles Hall 9-18-1806
Susanna Winston Should be Susanna Winstead w/o Bushard Winstead 4-11-1811
Of the other siblings I have:
John Cox Jr m. Martha B. Hall 7-14-1803
Frances Stone w/o Asher Stone 11-30-1797
Elizabeth Thompson w/o Archer Thompson 3-19-1812
Eli Cox m. Jane Winstead 20 or 26 Mar 1816
I also have come up with John's wife possibly being Elizabeth Fore of Northumberland County, VA. John Cox was the brother of Samuel Cox of whom I am descended. They were the children of John and Lucretia Cox of Bluestone Creek in Mecklenburg Co., VA.
