the county clerk was very rude and obnoxious,she told me that they could not allow any of the records to be copied.i was most disappointed i had to walk out without any of the records for my gggggrandfather edward d.page.we went to the virginia state archives and the microfilms were almost unreadable.i,m going to go to the mid continent library in independence missouri and see if their microfilms are in any better condition.suffice it to say i will not be going back to nelson county,virginia.i sent the governer of virginia a letter of complaint and also to the freedom of information act council.i also sent an email to the president of the united states.we should not be de3nied acess to any records or be denied the right to copy those records whether they are bound or not.we as americans have the freedoms to have due process and have freedom of the press.everyone do not allow your freedoms to be taken away.
under the freedom of information act they must allow you to have access to any and all records and must allow you to copy those records.if they don,t then they are in violation of the law!!!!!!!!!
