I am searching for my grandparents wedding date so I can received a copy of marraige certificate. I have contacted the register of deeds office in the towns they were born. I also contacted Emporia Virgina because I was told many African Americans went there to get married. However without an exact date they cant help me.
I have also contact Washington DC were my grandfather was stationed while in the Navy. They cant find any information.
Would anyone have any ideas where I could find such information.

I believe they were married about 1935. Both lived in woodland NC.
